Beschreibung / Inhalte
Ziel ist die Stärkung der Partizipationsmöglichkeiten von Menschen mit Behinderungen und deren Selbstvertretungs-Organisationen auf Bundesebene. Dazu suchen wir organisatorische/institutionelle Formen, in denen behindertenpolitische Interessenvertretungen des ABiD fundierter und effektiver weiter geführt werden können.
So wollen wir auch zur Fortbildung von Menschen mit Behinderungen und deren Organisationen beitragen, um ihre Fähigkeiten zur Interessenselbstvertretung auf Bundesebene zu befördern. Die zu findende Organisationsform – z. B. ein An-Institut als Abteilung des ABiD - soll die erworbene Beratungskompetenz des ABiD für breitere Kreise von Menschen mit Behinderungen nutzbar machen und so die eigene Verbandstätigkeit organisatorisch und politisch erweitern.
Dafür wird der Bedarf an Teilhabeforschung untersucht und Leitlinien bzw. offene Fragen künftiger Forschung ermittelt. Konkret geht es um umfassende, partizipative Teilhabeermöglichung im Sinne der UN-BRK.
Insgesamt prüft die Machbarkeitsstudie, ob das vorgesehene Konzept für eine Institutsgründung trägt, welche Rechtsform geeignet ist, nach welchen statutarisch/ethischen Grundsätzen es arbeiten soll und welche finanziellen, sächlichen und personellen Ressourcen erforderlich sind.
Die Machbarkeitsstudie selbst hat nicht zum Ziel, größere Bevölkerungsgruppen zu erreichen. Vielmehr geht es darum, Voraussetzungen zu eruieren, wie die Partizipation von Menschen mit Behinderungen und deren Selbstvertretungsorganisationen weiter verbessert werden kann.

Feasibility Study ABiD-Institute Disability and Participation, Practical Research and Research-Related Practic
The goal is to strengthen the opportunities for participation of people with disabilities as well as their self-representational organizations on a national level. To this end, we are researching organizational and institutional structures, through which political disability interest groups of ABiD can be (re-)organized in a more substantiated and more effective manner.
In this way, we want, among other things, contribute to the advanced training of people with disabilities as well as their organizations, in order to promote their skills in self-representing their interests on a national level. The final organizational form – e.g. an affiliated institute within the structures of ABiD – should then grant accessibility to the already acquired advisory expertise of ABiD for a wider circle of people with disabilities and thus expand on ABiD’s own organizational and political activities.
To this end, we are researching the need for participation research and determining guidelines respectively open research questions for future research. More precisely, we are concerned with the comprehensive enabling of participation in the spirit of the UN-CRPD.
All in all the feasibility study aims at examining whether or not the planned founding of an institute is practicable, which legal form is appropriate, which statutory and ethical principles should be at the foundation of its work, and which financial, material and personal resources are needed.
The feasibility study in itself does not aim at addressing a wider public. The goal is rather to determine the conditions under which the participation of people with disabilities and their self-representational organizations can be further improved.
